Crossing Trollfjorden

27 July 2002, 23:30 - 23:55

The visit to Trollfjorden is not one of the excursions that Hurtigruten passengers could always do. It is an extra detour that only takes place when the time and the weather permits it.

When I made the trip, we had the time and the weather was beautiful. So, the Captain of MS Midnatsol gave us all this special detour.

After having passed the narrow parts of Raftsundet, the ship made a turn towards Trollfjorden. A fjord that is only 2 kilometres long. At the mouth it is only 100 metres wide at the water surface. Surrounded by steep mountains up towards 1,100 metres.
